Strategic Planning Working Group
This is the development site for efforts to develop and ratify a strategic plan for the Missouri Mid-South Conference. On it you will find important documents about the development process, a time line of the elements in the process, and opportunities to comment about the plan and to respond to others in a conversation of the Conference.
Documents
Here are links to pdf's of the documents that we have used to start from in building the process as well as documents which the Working Group has generated in the effort. Just click on the title to link to the document itself. Habakkuk 223 Call Statement: This is the document that first outlined the mandate for the Strategic Planning Working Group and its link to the work of the Personnel Committee and the Staffing Working Group. Habakkuk Roster: This is the roster of the committee and the two working groups Survey: This is the survey which was distributed at each of the Association Meetings in May and June of 2008 as well as to the Women's Retreat and some other Conference activities. In addition there are a couple of documents that were a part of the search process for a Conference Minister which are useful for understanding the context out of which this process evolved. They are the Self-Study and the June 10 Summit recap. Newly added is the document presented at FaithWorks on the Priority Areas with a notation about the number of "votes" each received on the tally wall.Time Line
Here is a list of the events in the development of the Strategic Plan. April 12, 2008: The first meeting of the Habakkuk Project Working Groups in Columbia. We meet each other, select our leadership and clarify our tasks. We decide to begin a conversation with the members of the Conference by distributing a survey to the attendees of the upcoming Association Meetings. That means we have to develop the survey and get it ready for the April 17, 2008: St. Louis Association meeting. The meetings for the Eastern and Western Associations follow within a couple of weeks. Surveys are also distributed to the Women's Retreat as well as to a couple of other smaller gatherings. Completed surveys are returned to the Conference Office. June 21, 2008: Second meeting of the Working Groups reviews the process and the feedback from the surveys. We lay out a plan for the process through FaithWorks in October. This process includes the convening of Gatherings of the Clusters to have conversations using a common protocol which will generate a list of the important issues which the Strategic Plan should address. This protocol has to be ready by the first cluster meeting which is July 26, 2008: Meeting of the Kansas City cluster for the first of the Gatherings. The LaFayette cluster met on the 28th. August and September: The rest of the clusters meet. (see the blog for dates for Western Association) September 27, 2008: The St. Louis Association clusters met as a part of the Association meeting. October 4, 2008: The third meeting of the Working Groups considers the input from the cluster Gatherings and designs the process for reporting out at FaithWorks and continuing the conversation in that venue. October 17, 18 & 19, 2008: FaithWorks at Lake of the Ozarks. Working Group meets by phone and prepares for the next full meeting of the Habakkuk Project on January 10, 2009 Second Round of Cluster Conversations set for February and March, 2009 Habakkuk Project meeting in Columbia on March 14, 2009 October, 2009: Biennial Business Meeting of the Conference at which we ratify the Strategic Plan.Blog
